Read Time

At the top of each article as well as on the home page, you will find an estimated read time for an article. Read times are based on the average reading speed of an adult (roughly 250 WPM) and are calculated by taking the total word count of an article and dividing it by the average reading speed of an adult. This translates the article word count into minutes. That said, this time is not adjusted for the images or interactive components, therefore, the total time spent on an article may vary.
